Gmail For Your Domain Name

January 5th, 2007 by Fusion

Google has teamed up with GoDaddy.com and they’re now registering domain names for 10$ per year. Of course, you can get the domain name with GoDaddy for less than 10$ (6.85$), but what you don’t really know is what does Google provide with the domain you buy:

  • The start page - A central place for your users to preview their inboxes and calendars, access your essential content, and search the web.
  • Gmail - Offer email to your users with 2 gigabytes of storage per account, search tools to help them find information fast, and instant messaging built right into the browser.
  • Google Talk - Your users can call or send instant messages to their contacts for free — anytime, anywhere in the world.
  • Google Calendar - Users can organize their schedules and share events, meetings and entire calendars with others.
  • Google Page Creator - Create and publish web pages for your domain quickly and easily with this what-you-see-is-what-you-get page design tool.

This is a killer idea compared to Windows Live Domains (which is free). Having like 200 Gmail Inbox with 2GB+ each would be much more worth those couple of dollars you’re paying more fore your domain name.

Soapbox Integration With Windows Live Messenger

January 5th, 2007 by Fusion

Soapbox and Windows Live Messenger users won’t have to exchange links in order to share a certain video. Now, you can click on Share > IM in the soapbox flash video player and it will ask you to choose which contact to share this video with. One you choose the contact, he/she will receive a notification alert that you are trying to share that video and you will watch it together inside Windows Media Player activities panel in the Conversation Window. Here’s a screenshot:
